The à la mode Comfort Project

Benefitting Women Health Care Professionals on the COVID-19 frontlines

As a women-owned lingerie boutique in business for 16 years, we have seen countless times how beautiful, comfy intimates magically lift spirits.
With our stores closed due to COVID-19 restrictions, and lots of inventory on hand, we decided that we would put it to the best use possible: showing support and appreciation for nurses at local hospitals who work every day to treat COVID-19 patients.

How it began: The idea started when our friend Larisa Olson of Chantilly Lace in Wilmette, IL, dropped gift bags for workers at a local hospital, with great success, and invited us to join her in what was dubbed the Comfort Project.

Our objective: to give these women something comfortable to put on after taking off PPE gear and show them they are appreciated.

How it works: in concert with local hospitals we identify nurses, who sign up to participate by letting us know their size preference (S-M-L-XL-2XL). We fill each bag with appropriately sized, beautiful comfortable intimates such as a robe, pajamas, nightgown, camisole and/or panties. Once bags for a particular hospital unit are filled, we do a safe-distancing drop at the hospital with our best wishes.

Our thinking: While we can’t say “thank you” by wrapping these women in a hug, we can wrap them in comfort.

How you can help: Our store and our vendors are sponsoring some gift bags, but we ask you to join us so we can reach more nurses. A $50 sponsorship will fund one Comfort Gift Bag (Value minimum MSRP $120). To take part, make your donation online by purchasing our nurse gift, or call us at 410.280.9771, M-F, 10am to 4 pm. We will put your name on a bag gift tag, shown below, unless you prefer to remain anonymous.

May 6-12, 2020 is National Nurses Week, a time set aside to recognize the important role nurses play in society. Help us carry the Comfort Project to them as we collectively say, “thank you!”
